Lehigh Trail Dog Park Closing July 16th-29th for Improvements

The dog park at Lehigh Trail, adjacent to the Southern Recreation Center at Belle Terre Pkwy and Royal Palms Pkwy, will be closed for close to two weeks as it undergoes planned improvement, the Palm Coast announced in a statement on Friday. Dog owners will temporarily have to utilize one of the area’s other dog park options while maintenance is underway.

According to the City of Palm Coast, the improvements will address turf and detailing within the dog park, which opened in February along with the rest of the sprawling Southern Recreation Center. The facility is scheduled to be re-opened with plenty of weeks left in the Florida summer.

“We appreciate your understanding and patience as we upgrade these dog parks for our residents and furry friends to enjoy as we strive to create an optimal experience for all that visit this facility,” a spokesperson for Palm Coast said in the city’s statement.

Those looking for alternatives for their dogs won’t have to look far within Flagler County. Also in Palm Coast is the dog park at James F. Holland Memorial Park on Florida Park Drive, which has separate sections for both large and small dog breeds. Also available is the dog park at Wadsworth Park in Flagler Beach, just west of the SR-100 bridge.

“We understand this closure may disrupt some residents’ plans to enjoy this amenity and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” Palm Coast’s spokesperson continued.

Is there anything in this city that can be done right the first time and last more than 5 years? Where is the planning board that approves these projects before they start to make sure they are done right? Not surprising though, the city likes to waste money and then want more with a tax increase to cove things they should have to money to do. These morons are definitely not money managers.
