Kristin Bozeman, Principal of Matanzas High School in Palm Coast, has been named Flagler Schools Principal of the Year by the school district, a spokesperson announced on Friday. She was joined in the honor by the winner of Assistant Principal of the Year: Flagler Palm Coast High School’s Mandy Kraverotis.

“Kristin Bozeman and Mandy Kraverotis exemplify the qualities of outstanding educational leaders,” said Superintendent LaShakia Moore. “Their dedication, vision and ability to foster positive change make them invaluable assets to our district. We are thrilled to celebrate their achievements and grateful for their service to our students and families, faculty and staff and our community.”

Bozeman assumed the principal job at Matanzas High School (MHS) in 2022. Prior to starting in August of that year, she worked in the St. Johns County School District for over a decade. She began as a high school English teacher, ascending to assistant principal and later director of instructional personnel by 2021. She departed in order to start her career at Matanzas. Before, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida and her Master of Arts from the University of North Florida.

Also thankful to have been singled out and honored was Kraverotis, fresh off her selection as the county’s top assistant principal. “I’m humbled to receive this award,” she said. “It’s a privilege to work alongside such dedicated educators and to support our students in reaching their full potential.”

Kraverotis’ career in Flagler School dates back almost two decades, with her starting as an English teacher in the district in 2006. She has held several posts within Flagler Schools over that time, including literacy coach, curriculum specialist, and later assistant principal at Matanzas High School. She started at Flagler Palm Coast High School in June 2022, and has been an assistant principal there ever since. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Florida, and a Master of Education from Saint Leo University.
