Jim Doggett, a deputy with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, has tragically passed away after losing his battle with cancer, according to a statement from the FCSO on Wednesday. Doggett was 61 years old.

In addition to his service with the FCSO, Doggett’s life was in part defined by a distinguished career in several law enforcement agencies. “Deputy Jim Doggett faithfully served the Flagler/Volusia area for nearly 40 years and he will be greatly missed,” said Sheriff Rick Staly of Doggett’s passing. “Our hearts go out to his family and friends — especially his son, Sean, who followed in his father’s footsteps as a Deputy Sheriff here at FCSO. I ask the community to join me in keeping his family and his brothers and sisters at FCSO in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

A service to celebrate Doggett’s life is scheduled for Thursday, June 27th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church starting at 12:00 pm. The viewing starts at noon, with mass and the funeral beginning at 1:00 pm.
