Avelo Airlines Adds New Destination from Daytona Airport

ⓒ @AveloAir on X

Avelo Airlines has added a new destination for passengers departing out of Daytona Beach International Airport, the airline announced last week. The expansion marks a renewed commitment from the airline to its Daytona operations, which commenenced in June 2023.

The new destination will be a twice-weekly nonstop flight from Daytona Beach to Hartford, Connecticut. One of the less massive airports within the tri-state area, Avelo’s new route to Hartford is their second which connects Daytona to Connecticut. The Hartford flights will run on Fridays and Mondays.

The addition of the Hartford route brings Avelo’s routes out of Daytona to three total. They also run a regular flight to New Haven, Connecticut, as well a seasonal route to Wilmington, DE/Philadelphia. The latter flight recently resumed after a ten-month hiatus.

Avelo also runs three routes out of Orlando International Airport: the same New Haven and Wilmington, DE/Philadelphia routes it operates out of Daytona, plus another flight that lands in Wilmington, North Carolina. All three of these flights are year-round.

Avelo Airlines is part of a category of airlines which offer low-cost flights with relatively few amenities compared to larger airlines. Other more well-known companies in this class, known as ultra-low-cost, include Spirit Airlines and Frontier Airlines. Avelo will be joined in Daytona in February by another of these airlines: Breeze Airways will begin offering twice-weekly direct travel to White Plains, New York.
