On June 9th, the Palm Coast City Council indicated it would support increasing the fire impact fees. The numbers being 64% for residential and 108% for nonresidential.

The City Council is set to vote on the increase during two hearings: June 16th and July 7th.

City Councilman Eddie Branquinho was on record supporting the increase, pointing out that the Fire Department provides a high level of service for residents. Statistics back it showing that the Fire Department responds to calls within seven minutes, 85% of the time.

“Our city is growing. There are certain needs that come with that,” Branquinho started. “I think it’s a little sacrifice in order to be safe.”
