Weekly Gas Report: The Cheapest Gas Prices in Flagler & Volusia Counties

As gas prices remain mostly over the $3-per-gallon mark in northeast Florida, motorists are always on the hunt for the best deal in the area. At the bottom of this page are the cheapest gas prices in each city in Flagler and Volusia counties, as reported by GasBuddy. Though prices remain higher than in years prior, a new report from AAA spokesperson Mark Jenkins bodes well for the overall long-term trend.

“Summertime road trips have become less expensive thanks to falling crude oil and gasoline futures prices,” Jenkins said in his report on Monday. “However, oil prices did regain some strength last week, which could cause the plunge at the pump to stall.”

The average cost of a gallon of gas in Florida as of Tuesday afternoon is $3.22, down six cents from a week ago and 24 cents from a month ago. Florida comes in below the national average, which is currently listed as $3.44 according to AAA’s data. Compared to the current state average, Flagler County comes at slightly more expensive ($3.33 as of Tuesday), as does Volusia County to a lesser extent ($3.27).

The most expensive metro area for gas in Florida is West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, which is charging $3.45 a gallon on average. Meanwhile, the cheapest metro area is Crestview-Fort Walton Beach, which is at $3.05 on average.

Below are the cheapest gas in each city in Volusia and Flagler counties, according to GasBuddy as of Tuesday afternoon. Prices are user-reported and thus may change after being listed here, and may be cash-only offers. Member-only stations such as Costco and Sam’s Club are excluded from this list.

Thanks Chris for this information. I appreciate it. I also am enjoying the lower prices for now because I know it won’t be long before they go up again. Who would have thought that gas prices around 3.00 a gallon would be something to be happy about? LOL
