Palm Coast’s Feet to Feast 5K Breaks Turnout Record

ⓒ City of Palm Coast

The annual Feet to Feast 5K run and walk in Palm Coast broke attendance records on Thursday, the city announced. In the hours before Thanksgiving feasts began, 1,178 runners participated in the race that originated at Daytona State College’s campus off Palm Coast Parkway.

Many of the morning’s runners undertook the 3.1 miles of the race in festive costumes. There were a fair number of turkeys, green beans, and even a pregnant runner who put together a ‘baby in the oven’ pun for her run.

Participants started in the parking lot at Daytona State College, before embarking east toward Waterfront Park. They then trekked north to Palm Harbor Parkway near European Village, underneath the Hammock Bridge, and along Palm Coast Parkway until they returned to DSC.

“There is nothing quite like waking up on Thanksgiving morning and celebrating together as a community,” said Palm Coast Acting City Manager and 5K participant Lauren Johnston. “To see more than a thousand people come together—running, walking, laughing, and making memories—perfectly reflects what this holiday is all about. It’s one of my favorite Palm Coast traditions, and I’m grateful to experience it alongside my family and our residents year after year.”

The top finishers in the race were given a medal for their performances, along with a Thanksgiving pie. Following the race, judges awarded prizes for the best overall costume, best couple’s costume, best family costume, and cutest kid costume.
