PALM COAST – Motto Mortgage, a nationwide loan company with a presence in Palm Coast, is preparing to launch a new golf fundraiser to combat hunger. The fundraiser, called ‘Swing Against Hunger’, will be taking place on October 23rd at the Grand Haven Golf Club.

Players looking to enter the tournament will be able to do so with a $125 registration fee. A mimosa and Bloody Mary breakfast will be included at 10:00 am, and play kicking off at 12:00 pm. A reception dinner will be held after the event’s conclusion.

According to a release sent out by a Motto Mortgage spokesperson, the company decided to launch the event to try and solve the food insecurity issue plaguing 10% of the population. By that figure, over 11,000 residents in Flagler County are facing challenges putting food on the table.

The community is encouraged to donate to the cause via monetary contributions, or by sponsoring or competing in the tournament. Furthermore, items can be donated for a charity raffle taking place during the event.

“We are driven by a shared commitment to alleviating hunger in our community,” said tournament organizer Pam Capella. “’Swing Against Hunger’ is not just a golf tournament; it’s a collective effort to make a tangible impact on the lives of those facing food insecurity.” Those competing in the tournament are encouraged to dress for the Halloween season; the ‘spookiest’ golf attire will be awarded a prize.
