The Flagler Free Clinic in Bunnell has received a sizable donation to help it provide accessible medical services to Flagler County residents. The institution has announced that a donation of $100,000 has been made by Hammock Dunes Cares.
According to a media release from the Flagler Free Clinic, this is the second straight year that Halifax Dunes Cares has made a $100k donation. The money was raised through the Hammock Dunes Cares’ Rally Auction, which took place over two weeks in February with activities such as racquet sports, live music, and a creek porch party.
“We are thrilled to announce this significant donation to the Flagler Free Clinic,” said Hammock Dunes Cares President PJ Conniff. “This contribution reflects our deep-rooted dedication to enhancing the well-being of our community members. We commend the invaluable work of the Flagler Free Clinic and are honored to play a role in advancing their critical healthcare initiatives.”
The donation comes at a time when free clinics are facing a newfound need for community support. In 2024 the Florida state legislature passed a new law expanding the eligibility for the use of free clinics; now residents making 300% of the federal poverty level, up from 200%, are able to access free clinic services.
“We are beyond grateful to Hammock Dunes Cares for their extraordinary generosity,” added Flagler Free Clinic Executive Director Terri Belletto. “This substantial donation will undoubtedly make a profound impact on the clinic’s ability to serve the healthcare needs of the community.”
Next on the calendar for the Flagler Free Clinic is a charity golf tournament to celebrate twenty years of service. That will take place on Monday, October 7th at the Hammock Beach Ocean Course.
