The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is commencing a repaving project for US-1 in northern Flagler County. Over the course of the repaving, work will span from Palm Coast Parkway northward to Pellicer Creek, not far from the border with St. Johns County.
The scope of the repaving project is $8 million, to be carried out by the Daytona Beach-based company P&S Paving, Inc. This figure is down from a $14.4 million price included in project documents from January 2024. Estimates for the work have a completion date around the end of this year. The affected stretch is 6.84 miles according to data from FDOT.

“This project does not include work on the roundabouts at the West Matanzas Woods Parkway or Old Kings Road intersections,” FDOT said in a statement about the project. “(The work will) extend the lifespan of the existing roadway. Improvements include minor drainage enhancements, updated roadway signage, and pavement markings. In addition, the in-ground sensors located at the weigh station will be replaced.”
In a project document, FDOT lists some of the additional benefits of the repaving as being ‘minor drainage enhancements and signage and pavement markings along the nearly 7-mile-long corridor’. It also states that the configuration of US-1 in the affected area will not be changed, and the roundabouts at Matanzas Woods Parkway and Old Kings Road won’t be serviced.
The most immediate effect of the repaving will be periodic lane closures during the day. Motorists can also expect uneven lanes on US-1 during the second half of 2025. “Motorists are asked to use extra caution while driving through the work zone,” FDOT continued. “Drivers are encouraged to follow posted signage, remain alert, and exercise caution while traveling through the work zone.”
