One of Palm Coast Town Center’s most appreciated businesses held its grand reopening last week. Epic Theatres of Palm Coast debuted their newly-renovated movie theater following a large round of investments into the aging facility.

The theater held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, August 27th in front of the building. Several local elected officials, Epic employees, and business leaders were on-hand to usher in the changes.

“Epic Theatres has always been a place where families come together for Friday night premieres, where friends laugh until their popcorn spills, and where kids experience the magic of the big screen for the very first time,” said Palm Coast Vice Mayor Theresa Pontieri. “On behalf of the City, I want to thank Epic Theatres for investing in Palm Coast and believing in this community. I think we can all agree—this deserves a standing ovation.”

Most immediately noticeable is that Epic Theatres no longer has a ticket sales window in front of the building, as has been the case for some time. Customers have multiple options for purchasing tickets, including online seat reservation and electronic kiosks inside the theater.

Also debuting is the new Epic XTS Auditorium, with a laser-projected, wall-to-wall screen. Further features include a 24-channel audio system, and what the theater calls ‘zero-gravity recliners’ which can shake and move to immerse the viewer in the kinetic experience of a movie.

There will also be a new LUX Theatre, which will be limited to moviegoers ages 17 and older. Inside this room, Epic is offering massaging recliners, charging ports for electronic devices, and a ‘premium adults-only atmosphere designed for the ultimate comfort’. All in all, the renovations to Epic Theatres of Palm Coast totaled $1 million and brought changes to each of the facility’s fourteen theater rooms. More basic changes include electric recliners, new lighting and sound systems, and new flooring.

The timing of Epic’s renovations coincides with the ongoing development of The Promenade by Persimmon Capital, which will introduce 204 apartments and a series of restaurants, shops, lounges, and office spaces just a short walk from Epic Theatres. The Promenade is slated to open in late 2026.

In addition to Palm Coast, Epic Theatres also has Florida locations in Clermont, Deltona, Jacksonville, Mount Dora, Ocala, Orlando, St. Augustine, Stuart, Titusville, and The Villages. They also have an additional location in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
