Palm Coast –Are you looking for a new hobby or activity? We’ve got you covered! Adults can learn how to play pickleball at your Beginner’s Pickleball or pick up some gardening tips with our Horticulture Workshop. Kids can make friends and learn new skills at Robotics for Kids! Toddlers can play and grow with our Teddy Bear Picnic. No matter your age, we have a variety of opportunities for residents to Explore, Connect, and Play in Palm Coast!

February 1 – Caregiver Support Group – Tuesday, February 1, 11:30am-12:30pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Presented in partnership with Brookdale Palm Coast. When caring for an aging parent or spouse, you may feel like no one understands what you’re experiencing. Join our Caregiver Support Group, and take a break with other caregivers. February 2 through 23 – Robotics for Kids! – Wednesdays, February 2-23, 4:30-5:30pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. This hands-on course using Lego WeDo 2.0 construction sets is designed to encourage children to become an active part of the learning process, collaborate to solve problems, and develop critical thinking skills. February 3 through 24 – Imagination Builders – Thursdays, February 3-24, 10-11am at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Using Duplo Blocks, Lincoln Logs, Fiddlesticks and other interactive activities, create an imaginary world with your child! Toddlers and their parents will have an enjoyable hands-on experience exploring and learning inventive ways to build and collaborate with each other. Let your child’s imagination be stimulated through patterns, colors, counting, position/ordering, compare/contrast, and fine/gross motor skills. For ages 3-5 years. February 4 through March 4 – Teddy Bear Picnic & Play – Fridays, February 4-March 4, 10-11am at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Join us for this interactive program where toddlers are invited to bring their favorite teddy bear to playfully themed outings that include a snack, story, game, and craft.

February 4 – Book Club Social Corner: Romance, Love, Heartbreak – Friday, February 4, 10:30-11:30am at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Do you love to read? Each month will have a designated genre – February’s is Romance, Love, Heartbreak. You select and purchase a book that falls within the monthly category. Book suggestions will be available if you need a little help. That month we will meet to share our impressions, reactions, and feelings. Free, but registration required. February 5 through 26 – Munchkin’ Sports – Saturdays, February 5-26, Session 1 for kids 2-3 years old at 9-9:45am and Session 2 for kids 4-5 years old at 10-10:45am at James F. Holland Memorial Park, 18 Florida Park Drive. This child-with-parent program teaches toddlers the basic motor skills necessary to play organized sports. We’ll explore a different sport each week! February 7 through 28 – Cooking is Fun for Kids! – Mondays, February 7-28, 4-5pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Have fun while preparing delicious dishes! Children will be exposed to cooking vocabulary, techniques, tools, utensils, and kitchen safety. Some recipes may not be appropriate for those with food allergies. $40/session. February 8 – Diabetes Prevention – Tuesday, February 8, 9-10am at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. The National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) is presented in partnership with the Florida Department of Health. The National Diabetes Prevention Program was created for individuals diagnosed with pre-Diabetes or who are at risk for developing Type 2 Diabetes. The DPP is a year-long program, consisting of 8 weekly core sessions followed by 16 bi-weekly post-core sessions. Free, but registration and a referral are required. February 8 – Bellies and Babies – Tuesday, February 8, 4:30-5:30pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. A gathering for new mothers and moms-to-be, Bellies and Babies is designed to support women during pregnancy, new motherhood, and breastfeeding. Go from feeling unsure to “I got this,” all while building friendships in a supportive environment. February 9 – Cooking Matters in Your Community – Wednesday, February 9, 11:30am-12:30pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Cooking Matters in Your Community will follow key nutrition messages and will include a food demonstration, tips, activities, and recipes to learn how to eat healthy while on a budget. Activities and recipes are accessible and affordable to limited-resource families. The UF IFAS Family Nutrition Program provides nutrition education to SNAP participants, low-income individuals who are eligible to participate in SNAP, low-income individuals who are eligible to participate in other federal assistance programs, and individuals residing in low-income communities. February 12 – Serving Hearts Pickleball Tournament – Saturday, February 12, 8am-4pm at James F. Holland Memorial Park, 18 Florida Park Drive. Test your skills against the best in Palm Coast at our Pickleball Tournament! The tournament will be played in a double-elimination style and will feature men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles. February 12 – First Aid and CPR/AED Course – Saturday, February 12, 9am-4pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Heartsaver First Aid is a 7-hour classroom course (includes 1 hour for lunch) that is designed to meet OSHA regulations. The course teaches basic first aid skills: administering CPR to an infant, young child, or an adult; using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED); using a mask or barrier device; how to stop visible bleeding; assist with possible sprain or broken bone; securing the scene for safety. February 12 through 26 – eSports Rocket League – Saturdays, February 12-26 at your home. Prepare for fast-paced action in Rocket League! This league will be a 3-week competition. Medals will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams, along with a trophy for 1st place and additional prizes. This event can be played cross-platform and from the comfort of your home. February 18 – Horticulture Workshop Series with UF IFAS Agricultural Extension Office: Plant Propagation Made Simple – Friday, February 18, 10-11am at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Join Master Gardeners from the University of Florida IFAS Agricultural Extension Office and learn how to propagate plants. Propagation is the process of creating new “baby” plants from your existing plants. Different plants require different methods of propagation – learn which ones will work best for you!  $10/person. February 19 – Historical Society Speakers Series: The Destruction of Rosewood – Saturday, February 19, 10am-12pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. A critical analysis of Rosewood, a predominantly black community destroyed in 1923 during a racially motivated attack, and other majority-black cities in Florida within the context of group economics and how that tradition among African Americans was destroyed. February 24 – Quit Your Way. Stop Tobacco – Thursday, February 24, 6-8pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. This single-session program will provide you with the valuable tools you need to help you quit tobacco. These include: creating a quit plan, learning strategies and skills to deal with nicotine cravings to remain tobacco-free, dealing with slips, having the opportunity to share your experience with others in a friendly, respectful and supportive group setting, as well as FREE patches, gum, or lozenges, if medically appropriate. Tuesdays – Diabetes Self-Management Education – Tuesdays, 1-3pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Diabetes Self-Management Education classes are facilitated and taught by a Registered Dietitian from The Florida Department of Health. You will first have a one-on-one assessment, which is then followed by three 2-hour long weekly sessions and 1 follow-up session. The City of Palm Coast and the Palm Coast Rowing Club (PCRC) have teamed up to offer middle and high school youth an indoor rowing development and exercise opportunity. Thursdays – Pinochle – Thursdays, 12:30-4pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Pinochle is a trick-taking card game typically for two to four players and played with a 48-card deck. Derived from the card game bezique, players score points by trick-taking and also by forming combinations of cards into melds. Free, but please register at www.parksandrec.fun/seniors. Thursdays – Adult Indoor Rowing Exercise Class – Thursdays, 4:30-5:30pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. The Palm Coast Rowing Club will keep participants energized during this hour-long, interval training class while teaching the principles of rowing effectively to get a great conditioned workout. For those who are interested, this class may serve as an introductory step to rowing on the Intracoastal Waterway. For ages 18 and older. $7/class.
