The Flagler County Commission elections were held on Tuesday, deciding who represents the second and fourth districts for the next four years. Leann Pennington achieved an easy re-election against a write-in line, while Theresa Pontieri defeated Raymond Royer to win her first Commission term.
Both candidates emerged from the Republican primaries on August 18. Pontieri, currently Palm Coast’s vice mayor, defeated Greg Feldman with 52.09% of the vote. Pennington bested challengers Drew Moss and Anna Jones, securing 54.58%.
Theresa Pontieri was elected to the Palm Coast City Council in 2022, prevailing in a four-way race for the District 2 seat. She’s spent the last two years as vice mayor, having been voted into that role by her fellow Council members for both 2025 and 2026.
“I am incredibly humbled, honored, and grateful for the trust you have placed in me by electing me to serve on the Flagler County Commission!” Pontieri wrote on social media Thursday. “Throughout this campaign, I made a promise to put residents first, protect our quality of life, fight for fiscal responsibility, support our first responders, and advocate for smart, responsible growth that preserves what makes Flagler County so special. Now it’s time to turn those promises into action.”
Leann Pennington won election to the Flagler County Commission in 2022, taking on controversial Commission member Joe Mullins in the Republican primary. After garnering over two thirds of the vote, she won even more resoundingly in the general election against NPA candidate Jane Gentile-Youd.
“I am incredibly humbled and grateful to the people of Flagler County for placing your trust in me once again to serve as your District 4 County Commissioner,” Pennington wrote. “It is an honor and a privilege that I will never take for granted. As I begin another four years serving you, my commitment remains unwavering. I will continue fighting to protect our agricultural roots, preserve our beautiful coastal and rural character, prioritize public safety, and safeguard the quality of life that makes Flagler County so special.”
