Ty Miller was elected to the Palm Coast City Council on Tuesday, besting opponent Jeffery Seib. Miller took home 70.50% of the vote, good for 20,182 more votes than Seib. When he’s sworn in, Miller will begin his first term on the City Council which will expire in 2028.
“It validates what we did, knocking on doors, talking to people, putting in a lot of hard work,” Milller said about his victory. “[I’m] happy our message has resonated with people and our citizens. Ready to go to work and try to help out the city.”
The two candidates advanced out of the August primaries, when they earned more votes than fellow candidates Kathy Austrino and Shara Brodsky. As no candidate achieved more than a 50.0% haul in August, the top-two finishers moved on to the November general election. Miller just missed an outright win with his 44.59% showing, while Seib was a comfortable second with 21.52% of the vote.
Both candidates were in their first campaigns for a City Council seat. Though Palm Coast’s city races are nonpartisan, Seib’s advancement out of the August primaries makes him one of a small group of Democrats with electoral successes in Flagler County over the last few election cycles. Prior to this campaign, he worked in various science positions for employers such as the University of Florida, Everglades National Park, and The Weyerhaeuser Company.
Miller’s career background includes four years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, before moving on to project management roles both overseas in Afghanistan and Kuwait, and locally in Palm Coast. He was vocal about his time in the armed services during his City Council campaign.

We need good for the people on the city council. Infrastructure, roads, canals, wasteful spending and major trimming of the city workers. 625 city workers at close to 62 million in payroll is ludicrous.
