Congressman Randy Fine, the U.S. representative whose district includes Flagler County, has been endorsed by President Donald Trump for re-election. Fine won a partial term in office in an April special election after Trump tapped former Rep. Michael Waltz to become part of his administration.

In his endorsement, Trump called Fine “a MAGA Warrior who is doing a fantastic job representing Florida’s 6th congressional district”. Trump handpicked Fine, then a Florida state legislator, to run for the seat after it became vacant. Fine won over Democrat Josh Weil despite Weil far outpacing him in campaign donations.

The 2026 election in Florida’s 6th congressional district has drawn a dozen filed candidates, according to the Florida Division of Elections. Fine himself has not yet formally submitted paperwork, but is largely expected to seek a full term in office.

Palm Coast City Council member Charles Gambaro is campaigning for the seat, as is Flagler School Board member Will Furry. Like Fine, both candidates are running as Republicans in a district which has been solidly red for the entire 21st century. Two Democrats have filed: Eric Yonce and Ron Murchinson-Rivera. Republican Aaron Baker, who ran in this year’s special election, is also running again, as are several other NPA, write-in, and minor party candidates.

“A Harvard Educated and Successful Businessman, Randy was a Highly Respected State Legislator, prior to becoming a distinguished U.S. Congressman,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account. “He loves the Great People of the Sunshine State, which I won THREE TIMES in 2016, 2020, and 2024! In Congress, Randy is fighting tirelessly to Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Advance American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our now very Secure Border, SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Champion our Military/Veterans, Defend our always under siege Second Amendment, and Restore PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH.”

Fundraising numbers in federal filing reports indicate that Fine ended September with almost $400k, compared to almost $200k for Gambaro. Furry trailed far behind with about $25,000.

“I am honored and proud to have the endorsement of President Trump!” Fine wrote on his X account. “Together, we’ll continue fighting to Make Florida and America Great Again!” As of now the Republicans hold a slim majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, with 219 seats to the Democrats’ 213. Three seats are presently vacant.
