The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office on Monday arrest a parolee from Georgia on a variety of felony charges. 22-year-old Nathan Tanner is a convicted felon one state north for a burglary he’s reported to have taken part in.

The incident began when an FCSO deputy began a routine a traffic stop on SR-11 in Bunnell. Tanner was said to be driving with one female passenger. At this point the deputy was said to have smelled a distinct cannabis odor, with drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle.

After asking Tanner and the passenger to exit, the deputy conducted a search on probable cause. The report on the incident by the FCSO says the deputy found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a single-shot bolt action .22 caliber short-barrel rifle. More drugs were allegedly found in Tanner’s shirt pocket. He was then identified as parolee from Georgia, and he was arrested at the scene.

Once he was booked into the county jail, deputies reportedly found a glass pipe in Tanner’s groin area, leading him to be given an additional felony charge of introducing contraband into an inmate facility. On top of that, he’s charged with violation of parole, possession of meth, an illegal firearm, a concealed firearm, a short-barreled firearm, and drug paraphernalia.

All charges are felonies except the paraphernalia possession charge, which is a misdemeanor. As of Wednesday afternoon he is still being held in Flagler County pending the postage of his $91,000 bond.
