Congressman Randy Fine (FL-6) was shown on a personal doorbell video appearing to leaf through a resident’s mailbox while campaigning ahead of Tuesday’s primary election. If Fine’s actions on camera are what they appear to be, the congressman may have committed a federal crime.
The video was first shared to Facebook by an Ormond Beach resident and later recirculated by former congressional candidate Barbie Harden Hall. In the clip, Fine is shown ringing the doorbell before turning to look at a mailbox on his left. After a few moments, he opens the lid and can be seen flipping through several items. The video was dated to Sunday at 4:55 p.m.
A report on Tuesday from TMZ stated that Fine’s office has confirmed to their outlet that it was indeed him in the video. Multiple requests for comment to be used in this report have not received a response.
Randy Fine represents Florida’s 6th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He’s on the Republican primary ballot Tuesday as he hopes to secure. a second term in office.
This week’s incident is not the first time Fine has been accused of illegal activity. In 2024 he was alleged to have voted on behalf of other members of the Florida legislature by pressing buttons on voting panels. If the members weren’t present in the chamber (which remains unclear), the actions Fine was accused of would be illegal.
“In that Chamber, where this was taken, Members are explicitly allowed to vote for other members, with their permission, when they are in certain other parts of the Capitol (known as the ‘Blue Carpeted’ areas),” Fine said in response to that accusation. “This includes dozens of meeting rooms and offices surrounding the chamber.”
