Palm Coast Man Sentenced to 5 Years for Child Pornography Possession

ⓒ Flagler County Sheriff's Office

26-year-old Palm Coast resident Christopher Caschera Jr. has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to fifteen counts of possession of child pornography. Caschera’s sentencing came Tuesday, over a year and a half after he was first arrested.

Caschera will also serve ten years of sex offender probation beginning after his release from state prison. He is now a designated sex offender. His guilty plea saved a potentially disturbing trial which, from all indications by prosecutors, likely would have incurred a harsher sentence.

The case began in June 2023 when the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Caschera was investigated and detectives reportedly found fifteen files, a mixture of images and videos, showing young children in sexually exploitative positions. It was said that the youngest victims in the materials were infants.

Caschera was arrested on June 14th, 2023 before being released the following day on bond. The case was further investigated by the FCSO’s Cyber Crimes Unit leading to Caschera’s sentencing Tuesday by Seventh Judicial Circuit Judge Dawn Nichols.

“Our Cyber Crimes detectives did an outstanding job building a strong case so now this pervert will have some time in prison to think about his perverted actions,” said Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly about the case. “After that, he will spend the next decade under the strict requirements of sex offender probation to keep him from harming any children. If you are a pervert that likes to exploit children, our Cyber Crimes Unit is coming after you next.”

His parents are probably sooooo proud of him. NOT!
It should have been 5 yrs for every count. I’m guessing he’ll be out in two or less and then he can start his probation.

Hey Christopher, Bubba is waiting for you.
