Missouri Fugitive Arrested in Palm Coast

Flagler County Sheriff's Office

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man wanted in Missouri at his residence in Palm Coast. 40-year-old Scott Granden is considered a fugitive for several crimes across multiple jurisdictions.

A tip was submitted to the FCSO by a resident stating that Granden moved into a house on Perthshire Lane in Palm Coast’s P Section. The FCSO Fugitive Apprehension Unit received notice just 12 hours after Granden arrived, the FCSO says.

Granden is wanted in Missouri for failing to register as a sex offender and leaving the scene of a crash. He also has an arrest warrant for felony battery in Jacksonville, Florida.

After being alerted of Granden’s presence, the FCSO sent its Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Problem Area Crime Enforcement, and K-9 Unit to the P Section home. The house was surrounded and announcements were made ordering Granden to come outside.

The FCSO says Granden initially refused to come to the door. A K-9 handler prepared to move in to take Granden into custody, but he then reportedly surrendered voluntarily. He was arrested and taken to the county jail without bond.

Granden has three fugitive charges plus one of obstruction without violence, one out-of-county warrant, and violation of probation.

“If you’re a fugitive, Flagler County is the wrong place to hide,” Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly said. “This dirtbag thought he could flee to Florida, enjoy the sunshine and escape law enforcement. Instead, someone ‘saw something, said something,’ and our deputies put him in handcuffs before his boxes were unpacked. The only good decision he made was to avoid having a K-9 take a bite out of crime! We will not tolerate fugitives trying to make Flagler County their hideout.”
