Former Flagler County School Board member Jill Woolbright qualified for the District 1 ballot through the petition process, her campaign announced Monday.
The Flagler County Supervisor of Elections certified Woolbright’s petitions, allowing her to appear on the ballot without paying a filing fee. Candidates using the petition route must collect verified signatures from a set percentage of registered voters in the district.
Woolbright served on the school board from 2020 to 2022. She will face Cathy Moon for the District 1 seat, which opened after the resignations of Sally Hunt and, more recently, Derek Barrs. Gov. Ron DeSantis had appointed Barrs to fill Hunt’s vacancy.
Woolbright taught in Flagler Schools for 28 years.
“Having spent nearly three decades in the classroom and having served on the School Board, I understand both the challenges and the opportunities within our school system,” Woolbright said. “I am committed to bringing experienced, steady leadership that prioritizes student success, supports our teachers, and ensures responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.”
