A Jacksonville resident who was arrested in Flagler County last year on child pornography charges has been sentenced to five years in prison. On Wednesday, 26-year-old Amias Mabini pleaded guilty to twelve out of 40 criminal charges levied against him.

Once Mabini’s five-year sentence is complete, he’ll be required to register as a sex offender. There will also be a ten-year period in which Mabini is on sex offender probation. The sentence was given by Circuit Judge Dawn Nichols.

Mabini was arrested in July 2025, and has been in jail ever since. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children that he was allegedly sending child sexual abuse material on Kik, a private messaging app. The offenses reportedly occurred in September 2024. The case against Mabini was investigated by the FCSO Cyber Crimes/ICAC Unit.

The FCSO interviewed Mabini at their Operations Center in Bunnell on July 12. In that interview, the agency says Mabini admitted to both viewing and distributing child pornography. He was arrested subsequently on 40 charges of viewing/distributing child pornography with enhancement, plus eight more charges without enhancement.

Prior to that arrest, Mabini had only one other booking in the county jail. In July 2018, he was booked on two misdemeanors: marijuana possession less than 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A former resident of Palm Coast’s P Section, Mabini moved to Jacksonville prior to the charges being brought against him. He was alleged to have committed the offenses while still living in Palm Coast.

“Let this be a clear message to anyone who thinks they can hide behind a keyboard to exploit children,” said Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly. “We will find you, arrest you, and hold you accountable. I commend the outstanding work of our Cyber Crimes detectives, Digital Forensics team, and our law enforcement partners, who collectively investigated this case to get this pervert off the streets and in jail where he belongs. FCSO and our partners are relentless in protecting our most vulnerable and will continue to pursue perverts with every tool available. We do not tolerate this behavior in our community, not now, not ever.”

As of Wednesday, Mabini was said to be in custody at the county jail as he awaits transfer to the custody of the Florida Department of Corrections.
