The Flagler Tiger Bay announced this week that it would be hosting Dr. Audrey Gregory, President and CEO of Advent Health’s East Florida Division, at their luncheon on Wednesday, January 22nd. Gregory is scheduled to give a speech on the challenges of recruitment into the healthcare workforce.

The luncheon, which is available to attend at a fee for the general public with a discount for members, is the first event with a featured guest speaker that the Tiger Bay Club will have held in the new year. It will take place at the Hammock Dunes Club in Palm Coast from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.

Dr. Audrey Gregory’s Healthcare Career

As a decorated healthcare professional, Gregory oversees a large swath of AdventHealth’s operations in a part of Florida that includes Flagler, Volusia, St. Johns, and parts of Lake and Sumter counties. Over 11,000 employees work within Gregory’s purview, including over 400 physicians across 70 locations.

Gregory herself entered the healthcare field over three decades ago, starting as a registered nurse in the emergency room. She became Chief Nursing Officer at Delray Medical Center in Palm Beach in 2004, a post she stayed at for seven years. In 2011 she rose to Chief Operating Officer at Saint Francis Hospital, and then to Chief Executive Officer at Placentia-Linda Hospital in 2014.

From there she stayed at the CEO level, becoming the President of the Detroit Medical Center and CEO of the Adult Central Campus in 2019, before being promoted to Group CEO of the Detroit Medical Center in 2020. Gregory’s career with AdventHealth began in 2021, when she came on as the President & CEO of AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division north region. She assumed her current role as Executive VP and CEO of AdventHealth East Florida Division in November 2023.

Education and Honors

During her career in healthcare, Gregory earned several degrees relevant to her field. In 2001 she graduated Georgia Southern University with a Master of Health Services Administration and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration. In 2011 she complimented that with a PhD in Global Leadership Specializing in Corporate and Organizational Management from Lynn University. The latter school gave Gregory their Distinguished Alumni Award in 2023.

Among the accolades garnered in Gregory’s career are picks as one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Women Leaders (2022) and Top 25 Minority Leaders (2020), as well as Becker’s Hospital Review’s Black Healthcare Leaders to Know (2023-24) and Women Hospital Presidents and CEOs to Know (2024).
