One suspect has been detained following a shooting at the McDonald’s at Palm Coast Parkway and Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office announced late Tuesday night. The incident left one victim in critical condition.
The identities of the victim, suspect, or any other involved parties have not yet been released by the FCSO as of early Wednesday morning. In their first public announcement of the incident, the FCSO stated that the shooting occurred shortly after 10:00 p.m.
While the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain uncertain, the FCSO says they believe the dispute began as a road rage incident. The victim was taken to a local hospital, likely AdventHealth Palm Coast or Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
As of early Wednesday the FCSO’s investigation into the shooting is still ongoing. The agency stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
