United Flagler Fourth Celebration Slated for July 4th

Flagler County’s largest July 4th celebration is slated for this coming Thursday. United Flagler Fourth, a cooperative event with the county’s cities and the county itself is taking place on Independence Day, with a series of events in different locations around the county.

Organizers of the event are hopeful it will regain the county’s footing as a destination for Fourth of July festivities, after years-long issues with Flagler Beach’s city firework show at the pier. First it was the pandemic, then a city manager who didn’t contact the vendor in time, and now it’s the demise of the pier itself at the hands of successive hurricanes.

United Flagler Fourth kicks off with a parade presented by the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach. It will range from North 6th Street to South 6th Street on SR-A1A in Flagler Beach, starting at 9:00 am. It will be followed by live music and entertainment in nearby Veterans Park at 10:00 am. From there, attendees will get a break to cool off, barbecue, and rest up for the evening’s festivities.

At 5:00 pm, gates will open at the Flagler Executive Airport for the firework show later in the night. Parking will be situated off of Fin Way, with no parking at Flagler Palm Coast High School across the street. At 7:00 pm, the Declaration of Independence will read by selected dignitaries, followed by the National Anthem. Finally, at 9:00 pm, Fireworks Over the Runways will begin.

There will be no cost for parking at any of the day’s events, though parking may be especially difficult in Flagler Beach for what’s likely to be a heavily attended parade. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office will be on-scene for security, and the Palm Coast Public Works Department and Flagler County Assist volunteers will help to facilitate things.

Multiple vendors will be present at the airport, in addition to a beer garden, kids’ activities, and more according to the event website. Port-a-potties will be on-site, and guests are encouraged by the organizers to bring their own lawn chairs to watch the fireworks if they wish.

Thanks for the info. Will be staying far away from the mess in all the areas. I see enough traffic on a daily bases through flagler county, that staying away will be like a vacation. LOL Happy 4th everyone.
