The Flagler Tiger Bay Club has announced its new Board of Directors, per a statement from the group on Saturday. The new board members will help oversee a nonpartisan political club with robust membership in Flagler County.

Each member elected will serve a four-year term on the Board, the FTBC says. The newest elected members are Charlee Brazier, Marc Dwyer, Courtney Edgcomb, James Uveges, and Diane Vidal. Two members are leaving their positions on the Board of Directors: David Paul and James Manfre.

Edgcomb is the only member of the group starting their first term on the Board of Directors. Since May 2019 she has served as the President and CEO of the United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties. Edgcomb is a graduate of DeLand’s Stetson University and Alabama’s Troy University.

The Flagler Tiger Bay Club maintains a roughly equal selection of party affiliations on its Board of Directors. As of now there are six members each with NPA and Democratic affiliation, plus five with Republican affiliation. Brazier and Uveges are Democrats, Dwyer is Republican, while Edgcomb and Vidal and NPA.

In addition to their roles on the Board, several members serve in other leadership positions within the FTBC. Charlee Brazier is the Scholarship Committee Chair, Marc Dwyer is the First Vice President and Governance Committee Chair, and Jim Uveges is the Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair.

“Congratulations to our returning Board members and to our newest Board member, Courtney Edgcomb,” said FTBC President Jay Scherr. “With a strong leadership team, a stellar lineup of regional and national speakers, and a clear set of priorities and goals, we are well positioned to build on our momentum and continue making a meaningful impact in our community.”

The Flagler Tiger Bay Club is a political club which meets monthly and frequently brings in guests from the business and political world to speak on their respective expertise. Founded in 2018, the group upholds civility, collaboration, and political diversity as key tenets of its membership. They also are known to hold candidate forums, meet-and-greets, and straw polls for local elections.

The broader Tiger Bay Club was established in Miami in 1964 by political consultant Stephen Paul Ross. It’s now grown into almost two dozen independent branches in Florida, each without a firm obligation to any strong central organization.
