A potential Walmart Supercenter on SR-100 in Palm Coast has cleared a major hurdle toward approval. The Palm Coast Planning and Land Development Regulation Board voted unanimously on Wednesday to recommend approval of the development’s site plan.
If given final approval, the Walmart Supercenter would be located in the undeveloped plot of land west of BJ’s Wholesale Club and east of Planet Fitness on the south side of SR-100. The store itself would be around 185,492 square feet in size, according to application documents.
The developer of the project is Ken Atlee of Atlee Property Group. The property owner is Flagler Pines Properties, a firm owned by Flagler County Property Appraiser Jay Gardner. At his team’s request, the Palm Coast City Council annexed and rezoned the land in question at their November 4, 2025 meeting.
The Planning Board was advised at their Wednesday meeting that city staff found the development proposal to be compliant with the city’s applicable codes and comprehensive plan. The property is zoned for mixed use.
Beyond the part of the property where the Walmart would go, another 55,172 square feet would be dedicated for additional retail space. A gas station with a dozen pumps would occupy over 16,000 square feet, and an adjacent convenience store would take up 1,618 square feet.
Once the developer satisfies requirements such as impact fees, Florida Department of Transportation regulatory requirements, and other city fees, they may be issued the permits to begin construction.
Great. Now I won’t have to go to that nasty one up on Cypress Point Parkway.
