Street Lights to be Installed on Citation Pkwy in October

A construction project is set to commence adding street lights to Citation Parkway, the City of Palm Coast announced on Wednesday. The brand new LED lights will be installed on a portion of Citation that was constructed over the last couple years.

Work is expected to last for three to four weeks, the city said in a news release. It will begin on October 6th and likely continue for close to the duration of the month of October. Work will be done each day as weather permits. During that span, lane closures are to be expected between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. Drivers are asked to use caution during the work period, watching out for workers and expecting potential delays.

The street light installations come as part of a larger project being undertaken by the city government. Palm Coast’s Master Street Lighting Program is intended by city staff to improve visibility after dark, thus helping public safety.

To do this, the city says it will emphasize “strategically placed lighting in the areas where residents need it most, such as busy intersections, bus stops, and pedestrian crossings.” The city government also says existing infrastructure will be upgraded as part of the Master Street Lighting Program. Installation will be carried out by crews from L&S Enterprises, an electric contracting firm based out of Daytona Beach.
