The Landing Strip Tavern, the restaurant located just next to the Flagler Executive Airport, is set to re-open for business on Thursday, May 1st according to an announcement released this week. For the past few months the Landing Strip has been closed for renovations.
The restaurant is well-known for being the successor to Highjacker’s Restaurant, the establishment which occupied the same building for years. It was purchased in April 2023 by Jamie Bourdeau, and re-opened as the Landing Strip Tavern in October 2023.
According to the restaurant’s release, the closure was initially planned to be short-term in order to enact small updates. Plans changed when the owners decided to conduct a full overhaul, with a litany of new features now being touted for patrons.
Among the changes made are a fully remodeled interior, a new 24-seat bar resembling a salvaged warplane, a brand new children’s play area, 150-guest seating, and TVs visible from all seats. New services include a new Sunday brunch, a revamped menu, and updated specials, happy hours, and drink deals.
“We’re thrilled to welcome you back to The Landing Strip Tavern—better than ever and ready to serve,” the business said in their announcement. “Come enjoy the view of planes taking off, let the kids enjoy the new play zone, and experience a fresh take on your favorite local spot.”
Starting with its reopening on May 1st, the Landing Strip Tavern will be open seven days a week. Its Sunday through Thursday hours will be 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, while its Friday and Saturday hours will be 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.
A grand re-opening and ribbon cutting will be held on Thursday, May 1st at 10:30 am, with doors officially opening at 11:00 am. The restaurant’s address is 202 Airport Road, Palm Coast, FL 32164.
