Jordan Pittmon, a 26-year-old resident of Palm Coast, has been arrested for allegedly sexually battering a minor last year. The charges and arrest came after an eight-month investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office’s Major Case Unit. The victim was 14 years old at the time of the incident.

A report on the investigation by the FCSO states that the victim ran away from home last year, leading her to contact Pittmon whom she’d met on Instagram in November 2023. Pittmon is said to have met her at a gas station, where he picked her up and brought her back to his home.

The Alleged Sexual Battery

Upon getting to Pittmon’s residence, the two were said to have had sexual relations multiple times. At some point afterward the victim was taken to a public park, and a family member found her there. She reported on June 1st, 2024, that she’d been sexually battered.

FCSO Detectives began an investigation into the interaction between the two, led by Detective First Class Kathryn Gordon. A family member of the victim reportedly told detectives that they’d discovered the conversations Pittmon was having with the girl, and that they’d informed him of her age. According to the FCSO, Pittmon continued to message her after learning this.

Interviewing and Arresting Pittmon

Detectives first made contact with Pittmon on October 23rd, 2024, at this point having brought in the Florida Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution for help with the case. Search warrants were obtained for Pittmon’s social media and for his DNA. When interviewed by detectives, Pittmon reportedly said he didn’t know the victim, much less have inappropriate relations with her.

An arrest warrant was obtained on February 11th of this year, and served two days later. Pittmon was arrested by the Daytona Beach Police Department and booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail on $20,000 bond. He was released three days later after posting his bond.

“I want to commend this victim on speaking up to her family about this incident so that it could be reported to law enforcement,” Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly said. “I am sure it was not an easy thing to do. Our Major Case Unit detectives worked hard to build a case to put pervert behind bars for Valentine’s Day.  Thank you to our partners at the Daytona Beach Police Department for their assistance.”
