Accreditation is one of the police reforms being highlighted across the country and Florida has been on the cutting edge of law enforcement accreditation for over two decades.”
The Commissioners meet three times per year to oversee the accreditation program and to officially accredit, re-accredit agencies that have passed the rigorous review process and ensure accredited agencies remain in full compliance. An accreditation program has long been recognized as a means of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. Accreditation is the certification by an independent reviewing authority that an agency has met specific requirements and standards. Sheriff Staly has been involved in accreditation since 1996 at the state and international level.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) maintains accreditation on the 9-1-1 Communications Center, Law Enforcement Services, Ethics and Integrity as well as the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, which was accredited for the first time in FCSO history under the direction of Sheriff Staly in October of 2018.
