On May 27th, small business owner Alan Lowe jumped into the Palm Coast mayoral race against incumbent Milissa Holland and three other challengers. Lowe carved out a niche for himself as the race’s leading Trump Republican, garnering significantly more support than ideological cohort Donald Greene. On August 18th, Lowe advanced to the November 3rd general election, garnering 5,283 votes (26.6%) to Holland’s 6,312 (31.8%). However, despite an impressive primary showing, Lowe hasn’t been universally embraced. A website emerged recently attempting to highlight Lowe’s perceived shortcomings as a candidate.

Milissa Holland is the relatively popular incumbent mayor, winning her first term in 2016 and quickly building an impressive resumé in her first four years. Most notably, her spearheading of the effort to bring the University of North Florida’s MedNEX facility to Palm Coast Town Center is near-universally popular. Her term has not been without controversy, though; in June it was announced the FBI was investigating Holland for her ties to tech company Coastal Cloud.

Steadfast? A colorful word the belays strength….hardly a trait that has been shown during Ms. Holland’s tenure!

Mr Lowe is also a Clean Water Advocate. He took the time to come over and see the canal we live on and we talked at length. I’m fairly new to Palm Coast, been here 17 months. I was very impressed. I’ve had some dealings with the city over spraying Roundup in our freshwater canal. After seeing what happened in Cape Coral, the disaster that killed every living thing in those waters, the stench of Cyanobacteria and getting sick from breathing it, we left. Don’t want that happening here. I like Alan’s stance on the issues that face Palm Coast and that he will not waste our tax dollars on sweetheart deals. I think we need a change at City Hall.

Thank you for sharing this personal story about Alan’s consideration for clean water and the environmental impacts of toxic chemicals. I’m definitely going to vote for him. It’s things like this that can literally save lives and keep us healthy! Too many areas in the country with cancer from runoff’s and such.

I found it very sad when I read what Holland and the current council allowed to happen to Cooper. Just goes to show how self-serving they are. Holland will go to all extremes to take care of her own but couldn’t allow a hound dog to go to a rescue ranch which would not have cost her or the city or anyone else a dime. And she calls herself an animal advocate?

The author of this article should be ashamed. Using persuasive language while constructing a survey is at bare minimum lacking integrity, Just like Melissa Holland. A woman who went around Flagler County to place a mask order on her constituents while being photographed multiple times in public not distancing and not wearing her muzzle. Holland lacks moral compass as evidence by her involvement with coastal cloud. She’s clearly not that popular in this poll! Let’s go Lowe!
